If ordering in a restaurant you usually ask the waiter about the dishes he recommends, this post is just for you. Especially for the beginning of 2020, we’ve collected positions that our guests liked the most over the past 12 months. Don't know yet what to order when you visit Stolica for the first time? Here is your cheat sheet!

Starter: Caramelized fig served on oven-baked goat cheese roulade accompanied by strawberries, green pepper, arugula and orange caviar

To start with, beloved by many for its creamy texture, goat cheese straight from the oven. Our chefs don’t skimp on seasonal additions that caress the palate of even the most demanding guests.

Order if you want to start with something light, but filling too, and in addition you like a combination of salty, sweet and sour taste.

Soup: Sour soup with smoked bits, egg and white sausage

Especially in the winter season, our guests most often choose a warming, filling portion of the most traditional of Polish soups. When it disappeared from our menu a few seasons ago, you were constantly asking about it. That's why we decided to bring it back and keep probably forever.

Order if Polish cuisine takes first place in your heart ... we mean stomach :)

Main course: Pork loin sprinkled with mustard sauce, served on pumpkin puree with brussels sprouts and flavoured nutmeg

Last season, we served it with powdered pistachio, potato dumplings and green pea mousse. Currently, this delicate meat is served with a mustard sauce on a pumpkin puree and brussel sprouts flavored with nutmeg.

Order if you like delicate meat with creamy additions - you won’y regret it!

And…: Lamb shank!

This is another dish that our new and regular guests really liked. In the summer season the shank was served on black lentils with horseradish, mustard and a bouquet of cooked vegetables. With the beginning of colder season, our chefs changed the way of cooking and additions. For today you will order lamb shank marinated in plum jam, in a gravy served on horseradish cassotto made from bulgur groats, dried tomatoes, and fried kale.

Dessert: Apple-pie served with vanilla ice cream

Although in our menu you will find delicious chocolate gateau, a cream portion of ice cream and a first-class wuzetka, it is apple pie that dominates when ordering. Shortbread, buttery dough, perfectly sour, cinnamon flavoured apples and a vanilla ice cream scoop in your mouth. We can't imagine a better way to finish a meal at Stolica.

White wine: Matua Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region of New Zealand

Our guests choose this refreshing, persistent wine the most often. It is an excellent complement to fish dishes, salads and our spectacular risotto. Fermented in a steel tub, it retains the classic taste that many people look for in this type of drink. We always recommend it!

Red wine: Chianti Classico

Deep, tannin wine, characteristic of the Italian craftsmanship won the hearts of our guests last year. Meat dishes are perfectly complemented by a glass of aromatic, persistent wine, and this item met the expectations of each of the customers. The exceptionally long maturation process in oak barrels gives it a unique ruby color and smoke-fruity notes, so much appreciated by connoisseurs of quality wines.

Something stronger: Wódka Baczewski

The two hundred-year tradition of this spirit obliges to invariably classic quality, which is represented by its label. It is hard to tell how many times we have had a toast with it and although we do not promote excessive alcohol consumption, we know that Polish feast with a glass is already a tradition.
